Will the Ukraine War Be the Turning Point When It Comes to Fossil Fuels?

Consider the following:

The 19th century's naval wars accelerated a shift from wind- to coal-powered vessels.

World War I brought a shift from coal to oil.

World War II introduced nuclear energy as a power source.

These wartime innovations flowed directly to the civilian economy and ushered in new eras.

The war in Ukraine is different. It is not prompting Green energy innovation but making the need for it clearer. *

My Take:

Before the Ukraine war, we saw significant increases in investments in electric vehicles, long-duration battery storage, and Green energy such as wind and solar.

Now we will see "massive" increases in these investments.

This indicates what I believe: sustainability is a business strategy for "generational companies."

These are companies that plan to be around for generations to come. They care about their customers, their employees, and work to improve our country, our economy, and the communities in which they operate.
