ASHKIN INSIGHTS | Making it a Green July 4th: Green Fireworks
Some of us will be displaying Green fireworks this July 4th, believing these are safer for the environment.
It sounds like an innovative idea.
Traditional fireworks can cause respiratory ailments. They release elevated levels of sulfur dioxide, heavy metals, and potentially toxic chemical compounds.
But studies indicate Green fireworks are not actually that Green. Used in large amounts, they can have as negative an impact on the environment as traditional fireworks.
Best Bet: Celebrate the holiday - very important - but do it by taking the kids, mom and dad, to a public fireworks display. That way, you are doing your part to protect the environment.
